Matthew Gillingham leads a team of about 200 health technology professionals who bring together technology, project management, and program expertise to architect, build, and deliver innovative analytic solutions for government, philanthropic, and private-sector clients. For close to twenty years, Gillingham has worked in the health care analytics space, including architecting value-based purchasing software used by CMS to determine payment to individual providers and provider groups based on the evaluation of cost, quality, and value outcomes. In addition, he provides technical consulting in support of the creation of in-house analytics capabilities to government and private sector clients. His book, SAS Programming with Medicare Administrative Data, has been well-received and widely disseminated. Before joining Mathematica, Gillingham served as a decision support specialist for Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, and as an economist with the U.S. Department of Commerce. He holds an M.A. in economic theory from American University.
